Texas Capital has been the presenting sponsor for the TBHF Induction Dinner for over a decade. Where or how has this partnership been the most beneficial to your business?

Since I joined Texas Capital as President & CEO in January of 2021, I have had the pleasure of attending several of Texas Business Hall of Fame’s (TBHF) outstanding events. TBHF’s mission is to celebrate and champion the business leaders of Texas and Texas Capital is dedicated to serving the needs of the Texas business community and entrepreneurs across the country. We are fortunate to do business with many of the individuals and companies involved with TBHF and hope that we can be a meaningful factor in the success of future inductees.

Texas Capital has undergone significant transformation. How do you see the firm’s continued evolution contributing to the development of new entrepreneurial ventures in Texas?

Our work over the last three years has focused on creating something special and new in our state: a Texas headquartered financial firm that provides our clients with the widest possible range of differentiated products and services on parity with those of the largest Wall Street banks, while offering high-touch, locally based execution from a premier  team of bankers in our industry. Our vision is centered upon providing excellent service to our clients throughout the entire cycle of their lives and businesses – from opening their first checking account to financing their business expansions, to supporting them through an acquisition or sale and assisting with their private wealth management. Our commitment goes beyond traditional banking; we strive to innovate and tailor offerings to the diverse needs of our clients, ensuring they receive personalized and efficient financial solutions that make their lives easier.

What personal traits or characteristics have you found to be most essential for effective leadership, especially in times of transformation and growth?

Great leaders act with high integrity, transparency, candor, and practice effective and frequent communication, in addition to holding themselves and others accountable.

Philanthropy and community development are core to Texas Capital’s mission, much like TBHF’s emphasis on giving back. Can you tell us more about the firm’s contributions?

Texas Capital has a long history of giving back to the community, and we made the largest investment in late 2022 by launching the Texas Capital Foundation. The Foundation was established to expand and elevate Texas Capital’s philanthropic contributions in the communities where we are privileged to do business. The Foundation aims to fund small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations that are creating and implementing innovative, sustainable solutions to serve the greatest needs of Texas communities.

What advice would you offer to young entrepreneurs striving to make their mark in Texas, and how can financial institutions like Texas Capital support them beyond just capital investments?

As an emerging entrepreneur, you should be proud to do business in Texas, a state that if it were a country would be the eighth largest economy in the world. The opportunities for success here are only limited by your ambition. Do not give up. As an entrepreneur you should seek a true partner for your business, one that can grow with you and provide true expertise. Texas Capital is committed to being that business partner to the next generation of great Texas businesses, entrepreneurs and business owners at every stage of their lifecycles.
