Join us in Austin for the next TBHF Alumni Breakfast Club, featuring a conversation with the founders of local favorite Terry Black’s BBQ. As an added bonus, you will be able to enjoy a delicious breakfast taco bar with Terry Black’s famous brisket at the Black’s event space, The High Road on Dawson.
This exclusive event brings together iconic Texas brand builders with members of the TBHF network—including Alumni, Directors, and our newest Veteran & Scholar Award Recipients. It’s a chance to reconnect, network, and welcome the 2025 Awardees into our community.
Moderated by Austin Alumni City Chair Courtney Gallagher, the conversation will spotlight Terry and Patti Black as they share the story of risking everything to pursue their passion, and what’s next for their iconic, family-run brand. Attire is business casual. There is plenty of on-site parking.

About the Terry and Patti Black:
Terry and Patti Black are The University of Texas at Austin graduates who have built a lasting family legacy. After successful careers—Terry as a CPA and Patti as a pharmacist and full-time mother of three—they co-founded Terry Black’s BBQ with their children, Christina, Michael, and Mark, as a tribute to Terry’s father and the barbecue heritage they grew up with.
Today, Terry helps guide the family’s growing business, which has earned a reputation as one of the most respected names in Texas barbecue. Even with recent expansions into locations across Texas, Patti’s scratch-made recipes remain at the heart of the Terry Black’s BBQ menu. Next on the horizon, Black Family Hospitality (founded by their three children) continues to expand the family’s brand into boutique hotels, event venues, wineries, and several new restaurant concepts.
