Alumni Breakfast: Craig Boyan

The TBHF Alumni Breakfast with Craig Boyan was a masterclass in leading by example. The former H-E-B president shared the philosophies he and Chairman Charles Butt have used to build not just a beloved grocery brand, but one of the most respected workplace cultures in Texas.

Moderated by TBHF Veteran Award Recipient Robert Strong (an H-E-B Quest for Texas Best Finalist in 2018 for his Pretty Thai brand), and hosted by Weston Urban at Frost Tower, the morning delivered both insight and inspiration.

Some of the leadership wisdom Craig shared with our network of leaders and entrepreneurs includes:

• Sometimes culture is not what you stand for but what you won’t stand for.
• Employees want to be proud of their company’s leaders.
• Recruit for attitude, and train for talent.
