TBHF BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SUSSER BANK DIRECTOR
COMMUNITY LEADER
AUSTIN
In 2021 Kerry retired after a 35+ year banking career and began a journey of finding corporate board work that would satisfy her desire to continue to add value to companies seeking growth while keeping an eye on risk mitigation and optimizing the capital structure. Prior to this journey, Kerry was with Texas Capital Bank where she served as the Austin Market President for 17 years and then as Executive Managing Director overseeing Regional Middle Market Banking in Austin, San Antonio and Fort Worth. Texas Capital focused on companies with revenue from $25M to $500M, in industries ranging from consumer-packaged goods, SaaS, manufacturing, retail/food service businesses, private equity and professional services. Kerry has always enjoyed identifying unmet needs and building teams to fill those needs and achieving outsized growth. But even more important to her was over delivering on customer expectations. Nothing makes employees happier than having the latitude to make their customers happy!
In January 2023, Kerry agreed to serve as the interim CEO of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. She was honored to work so closely with many of the companies and the leaders that had banked with Texas Capital over the years to enhance the business climate in Austin. This interim position wrapped up with a successful search for the permanent CEO, and Kerry is now spending most of my time on for-profit and non-profit Board activities. In 2022, she joined the Susser Bank Board of Directors where she chairs the Board Credit Committee and serves on the Audit Committee.
Kerry has always felt strongly about volunteering her time and has been active in many civic organizations. Her community involvement and career achievements were recognized in November when she was named 2025 Austinite of the Year by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she is serving on the Boards of AARO (Austin Area Research Organization), Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation, The Alternatives Foundation and The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. She has served as the chair of the Austin Chapter of American Heart Association and on the boards of Caritas, Opportunity Austin, Visit Austin and YPO Austin Gold. She also volunteered in the classroom with Junior Achievement and at Huston Tillotson. In 2005, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Kerry to Texas One, the Texas Economic Development Corporation Board where she served as a board member until 2011. Kerry remains passionate about economic development and served as chair in 2017 of Opportunity Austin- Austin’s Economic Development Corporation. She also serves on the advisory board of Big Brothers Big Sisters and E3 Alliance.
Kerry is a die-hard Longhorn and graduated with High Honors from the University of Texas with a BBA in finance. She married her college sweetheart Steve Hall and has two grown children, a son-in-law and two granddaughters.
