Brenda R. Schroer currently serves as Director and Audit Committee Chair on Antero Resources Corporation (NYSE:AR). She previously served as the President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SGF Capital and lead the largest secondary offering in E&P at $2.6 billion, selling just over 10% of the family’s Diamondback Energy position in September 2024. Brenda has over 25 years of financial energy experience with a focus on upstream and midstream sectors serving as CFO and Board Manager with Endeavor Energy Resources leading their finance, treasury, tax, IT, and accounting functions along with all aspects of the merger agreement, employee matters and diligence in connection with the $26 billion sale to Diamondback Energy in 2024. Prior to Endeavor, she served as CFO of Aris Water (ARIS) through their initial public offering and Concho Resources (a Fortune 500, investment grade oil and gas company focused on the exploration and development of shale resources across the Permian Basin) until their sale to ConocoPhillips.
She has broad experience across the financial and accounting function including multi-billion-dollar acquisitions and divestitures, equity and debt capital markets, a deep technical knowledge of accounting/tax/financial and SEC filings/requirements. She has been instrumental in building, transforming and modernizing the accounting, tax, and finance functions. She began her career at Ernst & Young spending over 10 years working in their Dallas, London, and New York offices with her most recent role as part of the firm’s National Practice focusing on oil and gas consultation and publications.
She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas. She has her master’s degree from Texas A&M University and her bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). In 2024, Brenda was recognized as the WTAMU distinguished alumni. In 2020, she was recognized as “25 Influential Women in Energy” by Hart Energy and “The Global Female Influencer 275” by the Energy Council. She volunteers at the Aphasia Center of West Texas and served on the board as Past Board President during 2021. She also serves on the finance committee of St. Ann’s in Midland, Texas.
