
Cody Campbell

A seasoned businessman, entrepreneur, dedicated former professional athlete, and advocate for collegiate sports, Cody Campbell is the co-founder of Double Eagle Energy, one of the most successful privately held oil and gas companies in the Permian Basin.
Campbell is also a prominent civic leader and philanthropist. A Texas Tech alum, Campbell now serves as the university’s Chairman of the Board of Regents, and is a vocal champion of the school’s athletic program. Spurred by his own experience as a college football player, Campbell launched Saving College Sports, a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to promoting public policies that protect opportunities for all collegiate student athletes. In 2025, Campbell was appointed to the President’s Council on Sports, Nutrition, and Fitness.
Campbell and his wife, Tara, reside with their four children in Fort Worth, Texas.

John Sellers
Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Double Eagle Energy

John Sellers is Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Double Eagle Energy. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Double Eagle is a leading upstream exploration and production company, as well as one of the most active operators in the Permian Basin over the past decade.
John began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2009 after several successful years in real estate development. Since co-founding Double Eagle, he has led the leasing of more than one million acres and the execution of over $15 billion in transactions across multiple platforms. Under his leadership, Double Eagle has acquired large acreage positions, completed major transactions, and built strong teams to grow each business.
In addition to Double Eagle, John co-founded Tumbleweed Royalty, a company focused on acquiring minerals and royalties in the Permian Basin. Through the years, Tumbleweed has built and monetized significant mineral positions in the Midland and Delaware basins.
A fourth-generation cattleman, John remains actively involved in his family’s ranching business. A native of Canyon, Texas, he attended Texas Tech University, where he studied economics and was a member of the football team. John and his wife, Tracy, live in Fort Worth with their three children.
