2021 Annual Report
From Meredith Walker
Dear TBHF Supporters,
I am pleased to present the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation’s 2021 Annual Report. As we enter our 40th year, it is amazing to see the number of lives impacted by a small number of visionary business leaders, who in 1982, set out to build an organization that would celebrate the unique entrepreneurial achievements of its business leaders and bridge that success with the future leaders of tomorrow.
From the newly created Titan Talk forums to our competitive selection process for our scholar and veteran awards, never have our Directors, Hall of Fame Legends and Alumni been more united in driving progress through people. A record number of former Legends gathered this year at our induction dinner in Dallas to celebrate not only our outstanding line up of inductees but also to celebrate the outstanding entrepreneurs who were selected to receive a Future Texas Business Legend Award. 37% percent of those recipients were first-generation college students, almost 50% were female, and 46% percent were from populations under-represented in business.
We continue to strive to award individuals who see and understand business in new ways. From the gritty first-in-family college student to the veteran entrepreneur, we have used our years of interviewing the top entrepreneurial talent in Texas to select those who are most likely to succeed as business leaders and to pay their success forward in their communities.
Thank you to our 2020/2021 Chair Jon Karp, our Board of Directors, our Alumni Leadership, and our Hall of Fame supporters who have been so instrumental in protecting our mission to inspire business leaders who believe in using their professional success to better our state and protect its future.
Executive Director, Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation
