Kirk McDonald serves as President & COO for Zachry Exploration, an oil and gas exploration and production company active in the Gulf Coast and Western regions of the US. Zachry Exploration is part of Zachry Group, which has companies operating in the consulting, engineering, construction, maintenance, turnarounds/outages, pipe fabrication, and other services across multiple energy and industrial markets. The enterprise employs 20,000 people and has 40 offices across the US. Kirk serves on the board of directors of a number of the Zachry Group affiliated companies. Prior to joining Zachry in 2000, Kirk spent 17 years with Bank of America, and predecessor organizations, in various roles including corporate lending and credit administration.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Kirk earned his B.S.B.A. degree in 1982 and his M.B.A degree in 1983. Active in the San Antonio community, Kirk is a past chairman and currently serves on the executive committee of the board of the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation and as a member and past chairman of the board of trustees of the World Affairs Council of San Antonio. Kirk is also a past chairman of the board of Good Samaritan Community Services. He and his wife Debbie are the proud parents of two grown sons.
