Jeff Love is the Chairman and Senior Partner of the Houston Office of Locke Lord LLP, a 650 lawyer firm with offices in 19 cities in the United States and abroad. He joined the firm as the 24th attorney in 1976. Since joining the Firm, he has served as Chairman of Client Development Firm-Wide for twenty years.

A Houston native, Mr. Love earned a B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University, where he broke three all-time Vanderbilt University Baseball Hitting Records in Southeastern Conference competition and was an Academic All American. Thereafter, he received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and subsequently was the youngest graduate in the Law Schoolʼs history to serve as National President of the Law School Alumni Association.

Mr. Love has been very active in civic and charitable undertakings including service as a National Trustee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Board and Executive Committee of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Boards of Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation (of which he was a past Chairman), Memorial Hermann Healthcare Foundation and Memorial Hermann Community Relations, University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center and The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation.

Mr. and Mrs. Love have chaired a number of Charitable Benefits over thirty-nine years, most recently The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center “Living Legend” Benefit in December 2018 featuring Secretary Rex Tillerson, which set a new fund raising record out of the 47 UTMDACC “Living Legend” Benefits held.

Mr. Love also served as Honorary Consul General of Sweden in Texas for six years and for his service was granted Swedish Knighthood by King Carl Gustaf of Sweden.

Mr. Love serves on the Fred Jones Capital Corporation Board and a related Hall Family Board.

Mr. Love served on the JPMorgan Chase Houston Regional Advisory Board for twenty years and as Chairman of its Board Nominating Committee for ten years.

Mr. Love is a recipient of the Phi Delta Theta International Fraternityʼs Distinguished Alumnus Award. He is one of ten individuals selected for the Award since the fraternity was founded in 1848. The other Houstonian who has been accorded this Award is former Secretary of State James A. Baker, III. Mr. Love has served as a National Trustee of the Phi Delta Theta Foundation for nine years. He is also the Recipient of the Legion of Merit Award, conferred upon one Phi Delt in the World each year among the 175,000 living alumni members and presented to Mr. Love in 2015.

Mr. Love has been the Co-Honoree at the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Houston Annual Dinner. Mr. Love has been the Honoree of The Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs Dinner, the Boys & Girls National Trusteeʼs Dinner (Southwest Region), The Childrenʼs Scholarship Ball of the Jewish Community Center, Family Service Center and Child Advocates. On each occasion Mr. Love has been honored, the prior fund raising record for the event has been eclipsed.

Mr. Love has received the Outstanding Young Texas Ex Award, presented by the University of Texas Ex Students Association annually to four alumni under forty-one. (the first recipient not to attend The University of Texas as an undergraduate), was selected for the Five Outstanding Young Houstonians and Five Outstanding Young Texans Awards.

Mr. Loveʼs spouse, Kathy, is an accomplished Artist and Equestrienne. Mr. and Mrs. Love are parents of Benton, a Vanderbilt University National Merit Scholar who secured his MBA at the University of Texas and is engaged in Acquisitions and Divestiturers in the Energy Sector, and Elizabeth, a University of Virginia graduate where she was a member of the National Scholars Honor Society, attained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston and is now a Clinical Psychologist in Private Practice. Bentonʼs spouse, Ashlee, is an LSU Honors graduate and a Consultant. Elizabethʼs spouse, Adam Ross, a U.T. graduate, with an MBA from UH, is engaged in Commerical Real Estate.
