Texas Business Hall of Fame Announces
Kendra Scott’s and Robert Smith’s Invitation to be Inducted in 2019
On May 16, the Texas Business Hall of Fame will host a private event at The Bullock Texas State History Museum to announce Kendra Scott’s and Robert F. Smith’s invitation to be inducted into the organization on October 16, 2019 in San Antonio. Ms. Scott is the founder of Kendra Scott LLC and Mr. Smith is the Founder, Chairman & CEO of Vista Equity Partners. Ms. Scott and Mr. Smith will be joining 4 other inductees from around the state, including Richard Fisher (former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas), Tim Hixon (a posthumous inductee, Hixon Properties), the Miller family (of Bill Miller Bar-B-Q), and Graham Weston (co-founder of Rackspace).
Ms. Scott and Mr. Smith will be joining a prestigious list of inductees from the Austin area, including Michael Dell and Jeff Sandefer.
The Texas Business Hall of Fame was founded in 1982. It remains one of the earliest and most prestigious business awards in the state. There is an open nomination process and recipients are voted on by living members of the Texas Business Hall of Fame.
The organization’s mission is two-part. First, it aims to recognize individuals who have had a profound impact on the State’s economic growth and used their resources or influence to better their communities. Second, it aims to award scholarships to Texans around the state who demonstrate a unique entrepreneurial spirit and capacity for leadership.
Although the May 16th event is closed to the general public, members of the local media are encouraged to attend and should contact Denise Cinadr (the press contact listed at the top of this release).
