SUMMARY:In Conversation with Casper Founder Philip Krim: On Building\, Sustaining and Growing Casper in a More Crowded Market
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the TBHF Alumni Association\n\nOPEN EXCLUSIVELY TO TBHF ALUMNI MEMBERS\n\nRegistration is Required / Free — REGISTER\n\n\n  \n\nThe Texas Business Hall of Fame Alumni Association invites you to join us for an exclusive virtual conversation\nwith Philip Krim\, the Co-Founder and CEO of Casper\, on Wednesday\, September 22nd from 12:00 to 1:00pm \n\n\n \n\n  \n\nPhilip Krim\nCo-Founder & CEO\, Casper \n  \n\nCasper’s mission is based on a simple but powerful belief: If we all got great sleep\, the world would be brighter. Casper\, which launched in 2014\, disrupted the mattress market with an innovative idea – compressed mattresses shipped directly to buyers’ homes. \nToday\, Casper is a more than just a mattress brand\, they are an end-to-end sleep company. From mattresses to bed frames\, bedding to pet accessories\, Casper is bringing innovation to a market that had long been stagnant. And it’s a valuable market to tap into; 20 million mattresses are purchased in the US each year\, representing $18 billion in sales. \nPhilip will discuss his origins as a founder and entrepreneur\, how he built the Casper brand\, and identifying opportunities for expansion. \nThis is a unique opportunity to learn from a Texas founder who has disrupted the e-commerce space and is constantly innovating in a competitive market. This event is offered exclusively to TBHF Alumni. Space is limited so please reserve your spot today. We look forward to seeing you there! \n\n  \nAbout Philip Krim\n \nAs Chief Executive Officer\, Philip leads Casper’s comprehensive business strategy\, expansion\, and vision for the future. He drives Casper’s goal of becoming the first end-to-end sleep brand. Philip and his co-founders recognized a paradox in 2014 — a generation of entrepreneurs and working professionals who were placing increasing value on their health and fitness were neglecting sleep. Casper is now reimagining the sleep industry from the ground up. A serial entrepreneur\, Philip has founded two previous startups\, where he focused on evolving consumer and e-commerce trends. He received a B.B.A. in Marketing from Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. \n\nAbout the Alumni Association\nThe TBHF Alumni Association helps its members become legendary business leaders in the State of Texas. We do this by fostering connections\, providing mentorship\, inspiring through stories\, sharing wisdom and recognizing excellence. Join today and experience the benefits of Membership.

Meyerson. \n \n\nMORTON H. MEYERSON\nChair\, 2M Companies \nFormer:\nChair & CEO Perot Systems\nChief Technology Officer\, GM\nPresident & Vice Chair\, EDS \nTBHF Induction Year\, 2021 \n\n  \n\n\n\nMorton will discuss how and why\, after decades of successfully leading organizations\, he radically shifted his approach to leadership. \n\nMorton served as President and Vice Chair of Ross Perot’s EDS\, overseeing 50\,000 employees. After EDS was sold to GM\, he became the Chief Technology Officer of GM. Morton teamed up with Perot again in 1996\, this time as chair and CEO of Perot Systems. It was then that he realized his previous approach to leadership would no longer work. By challenging the status quo\, he was able to create a company culture that prioritized employee and customer satisfaction without compromising financial success and growth\, eventually leading Perot Systems to more than $1B in annual revenue. \n\nMorton will share how he came to this revelation and the actionable steps he took as a leader to create change across the company at all levels. This event is offered exclusively to our TBHF Alumni. There will be a question-and-answer portion\, so come prepared to ask questions about effective leadership\, brand values\, and company culture. \n\n\n  \n\nAbout Morton H. Meyerson\nMorton is currently Chair of 2M Companies\, a family office he established in 1983\, and of The Morton H. Meyerson Family Foundation. Meyerson joined Ross Perot’s startup\, EDS\, as a systems engineer trainee in 1966\, rising to become President and Vice Chair. In 1984\, Meyerson played a significant role in the sale of EDS to General Motors\, becoming the Chief Technology Officer of GM. In 1986\, he left GM to focus on private investing\, working closely with Richard Rainwater and coaching Michael Dell during the formative period of Dell Computer. In 1992\, he again teamed with Perot\, becoming Chair and CEO of Perot Systems. Meyerson retired in 1998 and has since focused on investing through 2M Companies. He spends significant time pursuing an active giving program through his family foundation\, which is funded by his private investments. \n  \nAbout the Alumni Association \nThe TBHF Alumni Association helps its members become legendary business leaders in the State of Texas. We do this by fostering connections\, providing mentorship\, inspiring through stories\, sharing wisdom and recognizing excellence. Join today and experience the benefits of Membership.
