About the future texas business legend scholar GRANTS
The Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Award program recognizes a select number of emerging entrepreneurs and business leaders at our partner universities across the state of Texas. In addition to our university specific grants, applicants may also be considered for one of our statewide grants. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of entrepreneurial excellence and community leadership.

Types of scholar GRANTS
FUTURE TEXAS BUSINESS LEGEND AWARD
The Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Awards Program recognizes excellence in student entrepreneurs across the state of Texas. Applicants must be enrolled with one of our higher-education university partners. Candidates will be evaluated on their innovation and entrepreneurial track record. Applicants may be considered for the university-specific awards or one of our statewide awards. Recipients can only receive one award.
Application Timeline: Applications for the Class of 2024 are now live and we will be accepting submissions through February 18th, 2024. Click here for full timeline.

The Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Awards are currently given at the following universities. TBHF is grateful to its university partners who help us identify emerging entrepreneurs and business leaders.
The TBHF Office will be in contact with you and with your university regarding notification and the award process. Applicants will be required to give permission for TBHF to share information provided in the application with their respective universities.
StateWide Awards
Applicants of the Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Awards may also be considered for one of the following statewide grants. These grants do not require a separate application and are not in addition to the university-specific Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Awards.
T.T. & W.F. CHAO “CHAIRMAN’S” AWARD
Every year, the Future Texas Business Legend Awards Program recognizes one exceptional candidate to receive the T.T. & W.F. Chao “Chairman’s” Award for their outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial excellence. This award is named in honor of the Chao family, founders of Westlake Chemical and 2018 Hall of Fame inductee.
THE BRETT WIGGS INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Future Texas Business Legend Awards Program recognizes a CEO/Team Lead of excellence in a startup based in Texas to receive the Brett Wiggs Innovative Leadership Award. This award is supported and named in honor of former TBHF scholar and CEO of Oryx Midstream, Brett Wiggs.
