In 2020, Clay was named Regional Chairman for Spirit of Texas Bank-Central Texas Region.  In this role, Clay has direct management responsibility for all Spirit of Texas Bank banking operations in Austin, San Antonio and Tilden.  Further, Clay serves as a member of the bank’s Executive Management Team. 

Clay brings over 30 years of banking experience to businesses and business owners for Spirit of Texas Bank.  His career began in the late 1980’s in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market.  For the past 20 years in the San Antonio region, Clay has focused on delivering high performing commercial banking teams to businesses in the communities we serve and is responsible for delivering financial products and services that help our communities grow and prosper.  Clay’s financial areas of expertise include Leveraged Finance, M&A, Wealth & Investment Management, Cash & Liquidity Management and capital structure advisory.

Clay earned his BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington with concentrations in Finance and Economics.  Clay and Julie have four daughters and remain very active in the San Antonio community.  Clay currently serves as a Director for the San Antonio Junior Livestock Show and Exhibition, a Director for the Texas Business Hall of Fame, a Board member, Director and 2020 Chairman for the Valero Alamo Bowl and has past served as a Director for the San Antonio Symphony, North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and for Family Service Association.  In addition, Clay continues to serve on various not-for-profit committees primarily engaged to support much needed services to the San Antonio and South Texas residents including Christy’s Hope for Battered Women and Children and UTSA24.
